Call for short film entries is now closed. Thanks to all film directors who have submitted their creative short film (s) to LISFF2012.

We have received colorful variety of over 100 short films from all over the world to the 4th edition of LISFF which is about to take place between the 5th and 7th of March 2012 in Klub Gromka in Ljubljana. Submitted short film entries have arrived from over 30 different countries ranging from Finland, Germany, Portugal, Ukraine, Slovenia, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Afghanistan to Australia, Namibia, Zambia, Cuba, Canada etc.

Official selection and detailed programming will be released after the 20th of February 2012.

Next stop of LISFF2011 on tour will be Graz (AUT). Festivals' retrospective will be part of GRAZ SHORT FILM NIGHT 2011 which is going to take place on the 25th of May 2011 in the art centre FORUM STADTPARK (Stadtpark 1) located in the centre of Graz. Special focus of this film event is given to young Swiss cinema.

We are glad to announce that LISFF2011 goes north also this year and will be organizing educational and cultural screenings of selected short films also in Helsinki (FIN) and Oslo (NOR) in April 2011.

LISFF2011 will be a part of HELSINKI SHORT CUTS 2011 film festival in Finland with the presenations of its BALKAN FILM BAZAAR selection as well as international selection. The screenings will be organized in Kino Engel in Helsinki between the 9th and 10th of April 2011.

Additional LISFF2011 screenings will take place also during BALKAN FILM BAZAAR in Oslo on the 12th of April 2011 and OSLO SHORT FILM NIGHT on the 13th of April 2011. Both educational and cultural films screenings will be organized in Cinema Neuf in Oslo.

Entrance to all educational screenings and retrospectives of LISFF2011 on tour in Helsinki (FIN) and Oslo (NOR) are free. Both festivals' presentations in Finland and Norway are aiming to introduce Balkan and international short filmakers to wide European audiences.

LISFF2011 will present final selection of 85 short films (fiction, animation, documentary, experiment) from 27 different countries in Klub Gromka on Metelkova in Ljubljana during 3 festival days between the 14^th and – 16^th of March 2011. Official program is now available here.

All short films will be screened in digital format with English subtitles.

LJUBLJANA INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL represents a living platform for presentations of creative short films in Ljubljana and a meeting point between organizers, audiences and film directors. LISFF_2010_ON TOUR

After two LISFF2010 retrospectives in Oslo (april_2010) and in Vienna (may_2010) the festival is closing its 2010 European educational tour in February 2011 with the Balkan short film selection presentations in Graz (AUT). The screenings in Graz will take place between the 7th and 8th of February 2011 in art cinema Filmzentrum im Rechbauerkino and detailed festivals' retrospective programming is available here.

As an accompanying event of LISFF 2011 the slide show photo exhibition »Things we do on Sundays« will be projected each day at 15.45, in the breaks between the film screening blocks as well as after the end of the film screenings at 22.00 on March 14th and 16th and at 24.00 on March 15th.

This film is a rebus which joins the world of the small (quantum mechanics) and the world of the big (theory of relativity) by introducing speed as a unique space-time scalar.

Ljubljanski mednarodni festival kratkih filmov predstavlja ustvarjalne kratke filme. Je točka srečanja med organizatorji, občinstvom in režiserji. Festival predstavlja lokalne, regionalne in mednarodne kratke filme vseh žanrov (igrane, dokumentarne, eksperimentalne, animacijo idr.) z izobraževalno in kulturno vrednostjo. Je nekomercionalni in socialni družbeni dogodek. Vse dejavnosti LISFF stremijo k temu, da dajo priložnost mladim in kreativnim filmskim ustvarjalcem iz Slovenije, širše regije in celega sveta, da predstavijo svoja dela občinstvu v Ljubljani.

LJUBLJANA INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL represents a living platform for presentations of creative short films in Ljubljana and a meeting point between organizers, audiences and film directors. The festival is organizing presentations and screenings of local, regional and international short film productions of all genres (fiction, documentary, experiment, animation, other) with educational and cultural values to wide Slovenian and European audiences and is of non – commercial and social character. All activities of LISFF are aiming to give a chance to young and creative filmakers from Slovenia, Balkan region and all around the world to present their creative short films to new audiences.

LISFF is an independent film festival
LISFF will take place in Ljubljana in MARCH 2012
The call for entries for LISFF is open to all independent international short film productions produced after year 2000
Authors of the submitted works define the film length of their short films by themselves
LISFF is accepting all genres of creative short films (documentary, fiction, animation, experimental, other)
Screenings of all films selected into the program of LISFF will be only in DVD format
Festival is non - commercial
There is no entry fee for the submitted films
All films have to be subtitled in ENGLISH
The film for LISFF may be entered by natural persons or legal entities (Authors/Producers/Participants) who have all copyrights of the submitted short film
Participants have full responsibility for information filled in the entry form
In case of hiding or conceiving any information about the legal status of film entered to LISFF the Participant shall cover all costs of legal actions resulting from the claims of copyright infringement from third parties
Authors/Producers/Participants of short films should send the filled and signed entry form together with the screening DVD (PAL) copy of their films and enclosed promo materials (synopsis, photos, awards, list of credits, festival screenings, filmo/biography) on CD to the official festival address SASO NISKAC, LUNACKOVA 4, 1000 LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA until 15.1.2012 (date of arrival in the office)
LISFF will not return the submitted films, but will place them in the festival archive
Submitted films will be used only for educational and cultural purposes
By submitting a film to LISFF the owner (author) of the copyrights grants to LISFF free of charge use of the film during the festival and presentations in cinemas and other public places as a part of additional educational and cultural screenings of LISFF in Slovenia and abroad in terms of educational promotion of the festival
LISFF is an international short film festival and its screenings will take place also in other European cities (additional screening locations in Europe will be announced on the official festival website throughout the year 2012)
Photos from the film, photos of the author/director, information about the film, information about the author, production, distribution and cast/crew information will be published in all festival promo materials and on our official webpage
Participant of LISFF may submit unlimited number of short films
Organizers do not profit from the festival presentations
Organizers do not take responsibility for not delivered or delayed films
Submitted films without signed entry forms will be rejected
LISFF is aiming to present creative short films of independent authors in which both artistic and educational characters and values are combining
